What is TBIN?
TBIN is similar to a medical records system where a single client record is shared with multiple providers simultaneously. The Tampa Bay Information Network (TBIN) is a private internet database where client data shared by numerous health and human service providers simultaneously within Pinellas County. This centralized database is where local human service providers enter, manage, report, share, and store client data.
TBIN is a collaborative program designed to foster communication between health and human service providers, track trends in service delivery, and gain an unduplicated count of clients accessing services. The TBIN system houses more than 5,000 community resources to refer clients to and lists all emergency, transitional, and permanent supportive housing provider beds and their occupancy. TBIN allows clients to have their information shared with all TBIN Network Agencies so they do not have to give this information multiple times. This saves the client and each Network Agency time that can be devoted to helping the client problem solve. The TBIN system is more than just a homeless management information system. It is an in-depth case management tool for all health and human service providers.
This shared information system is used by community planners to understand the scope of homelessness and the effectiveness of homeless service provision in Pinellas County. The data is used by researchers on the local, state and federal level to evaluate the progress of our community in ending homelessness.
